Nexus 5 - Does it live up to its expectations?

Google Nexus 5 is the new phone from Google which takes over from its predecessor Nexus 4. Read on to find out whether Google has made a best in class smart phone which can give all its competition like iPhones and Galaxys a serious run for their money?  
Nexus 5 is a solid phone with a Gorilla Glass 3 protecting the front with polycarbonate plastic on the back. It has been built to look minimalistic with a very simple straightforward design. It offers a lot of points of friction to ensure that it will not fall off easily from the hands. This new Nexus is slightly wider than the N4 due to the bigger screen but still is comfortable to hold because of its innovative design. It also contains ceramic volume rocker and lock button which is little unusual for a smart phone.
It has a 5 inch screen with the IPS panel and a resolution of 1920*1080 pixels with a pixel density of 445 ppi. Lying at its heart is the powerful quad-core snapdragon 800 processor clocking at 2.3 GHZ supported by a 2GB RAM. It runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat OS and is powered by a 2300 mAh battery. The graphics department is ably supported by an Adreno 330 GPU. This phone comes with storage of 16GB or 32 GB and an 8MP rear camera. Connectivity is taken care by standard options like Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi and DLNA.

The Nexus 5 is a phone with a great processing power and display. The new Android OS offers a simple user interface and a superb functionality. For the price point, it offers great value for money and shows that high quality handsets can indeed be made without costing the users a bomb. All this make this new phone a flagship product for Google and its hardware partner LG.
